Bob Walker’s Cave
1 bedrock mortar, rock shelter, stacked rocks
Elevation 2147 ft.
The late Bob Walker was an environmentalist, photographer, and president of the San Francisco Bay Chapter of the Sierra Club. During his tenure there he pushed for the expansion of Morgan Territory Regional Preserve and saw its acreage increase from 970 to more than 5,000 acres. As a member of the Save Mount Diablo Board of Directors he also worked to add the Riggs Canyon property to that park. Bob Walker died of AIDS in 1992, but his name lives on at this cave and on Bob Walker Ridge.
We believe the rocks here were stacked in historic times.
